A Life Changed

Mid-Winter, 1974

I came to the Lord in mid-winter 1974. I had just watched a movie, "Like a Thief in the Night," when I broke down, repented for the things I had done in my life, and asked Jesus into my heart. I pictured my heart as my home. Before that night, I had never let Him past the living room. This time was different — I let Him go anywhere He chose, even into the closet where I kept my secrets. I gave Him everything, and He swept my home clean, taking on all my sins by His grace, even though I didn't deserve it. I've not been the same since.

Two years earlier, I'd had a spiritual near-death experience. I cried out to Him — Jesus! — even though I didn't know Him yet, and instantly, in the center of my vision, an intense, divine white light engulfed me, and I was suddenly snapped back into my earthly awareness. It was only then that I told Him, "I will only believe in You if You prove to me You are real." Now, 53 years later, looking back on that moment, I have to laugh — and I'm sure He does too.

"I will only believe in You if You prove to me You are real."

— John, age 23. Now, 53 years later, he has to laugh. He's sure God does too.

Faith and Family

A Father First

Since then, I've been blessed to be a father — and a dad — to five children. Nothing has mattered more to me than the children the Lord blessed me with. I never worked harder than I did raising them, teaching them all I've learned, and being part of their lives as they grew into adulthood. Even now, I remain part of their lives, as the need arises, leading them to their Creator — who loves them more than I, limited by this earthly body, could ever comprehend. For He is Love.

The Journey

He Has Always Been With Me

I've worked many jobs, learned many disciplines, and grown in my knowledge of the Lord along the way. I've learned that He has always been with me, even when I didn't realize it. Now I recognize His voice, and He leads me in His knowledge to do any task placed in front of me. He opens my heart to understand His living Word, which I'm able to share with you, the reader.

Why I Write

To Bring You Into the Light

It is my earnest desire to bring you into the light and share the knowledge He has freely given me. I promise you'll never look back, except to learn from your mistakes. You'll grow at your own pace in Him — He is patient with you. When you hurt, He hurts with you. When you cry out for Him, He will hold your hand and carry you through the trials of life on this earth, all in preparation for eternity with Him.

Picture eternity with no hatred, no darkness of heart, no fear, no pain, no worries, no loneliness, no separation from love — only freedom from the troubles and restraints of this world.

This is our future hope in Him, and I eagerly anticipate life in Paradise. Nothing is more important than preparing for that eventuality. It's never too late to start on that road, as difficult as it may be at times. He never promised this life would be easy when we chose to come here — to experience this life and to make the ultimate free-will choice of walking into the Light or scurrying into the darkness. Know this: your choice is an eternal one, so make it wisely.

This is why I write. Once for All and The Beast and the Rapture are my attempt to share what He has shown me, so that you, too, may know this hope.
